Compare static and flowing PSI, identify the exact model, and decide whether adjustment is reasonable or the system needs diagnosis.
One gauge reading is not enough. Static pressure, pressure under flow, and overnight peak pressure separate a set-point question from restriction, supply, or thermal expansion.
Common U.S. model ranges are not universal instructions. Stop if the adjustment is seized, leaking, undocumented, or cannot hold a stable setting.
